Dental Hygenists and Dentists please read my "OUCH" question-I'd so appreciate your expert feedback!

Gum pockets deeper then 5-unreachable without surgery??
What has your success rate with SRP been?

Answers:
I am a dental hygienist. 5mm pockets are usually successful with srp to respond and go to 3-4mm's. everyone's immune system is different as far as responses go. if any pockets greater than 5mm's don't respond well after srp when patients come back after 3 months, that's when we refer out to a periodontist.

Not sure how many dentists/hygienists come to this site.
But I just had mine done 2 weeks ago. I won't lie. It was fairly painful but I survived on Advil 800mg every 6 hours. He had to pull back the gums on 4 teeth, do a bone graft. and suture the gums back into place. Oh, my pocket was a 5.
A regular dentist shouldn't be doing this. You need a peridontist.
Hope this helped a bit.
I'm not a Dentist but I have had 7 deep pockets for 20 years and still bopping along
