how long does it take for anesthesia from a dentist to go away?
i left the dentist at 4 and its now 6:22 and my mouth is still numb , is that normal?

I just left the dentist at 3 and I just started to get the feeling back about 1 hour ago (7PM). I think it is different for everyone and how much of the medicine you were given. I feel your pain.Hope you are feeling better soon.
It all depends what type of anesthesia was used.Each type of anesthesia wears off in different amounts of time, some longer lasting than others. I was still feeling the effects of one type for 4 hrs after!
You can be numb for up to 5 or 6 hours.
it usually takes around 4-6 hours to leave your gums depending on what you had done
