how much does a private dentist charge to put in a filling?

I havent been for like 11 years and now I know I need a filling as food going up one of my teeth. How much might I get charged?

Answers:
dentists are some of the biggest rip off merchants about. They will even try to put fillings where you don't want or need them. Try to find one on the nhs. If not, becareful and find out beforehand hw much they will charge for a consultation. nhsdirect can give you some advice on nhs dentists. One filling may cost you #70-#100 depending on what type you get. Do you want white ones that blend in or silver ones, the silver ones are cheaper.

they will probably charge for office visit, consult, xrays, and then probably a return appointment.
You are probably looking at about 200.00.
It depends on where the filling will be on the tooth (side, top), and if it will be a silver or composite (tooth colored) filling. In general, composite fillings cost more. Last filling I had done was a silver one and it was around 90 bucks. If I would have done composite, it would have been around 120.

But all dentists are different. and if you have insurance it will make a difference too.

Plus you will probably have to pay for xrays, and maybe a cleaning too.
call a dentist office and ask.

If you have dental insurance it might be covered.
my one charges 2.38 (including VAT)
Single filling-fifty to one hundred fifty dollars, depending on where you live. I bet my next lunch that you have more than one, if it has been eleven years!

Best wishes, I will keep my fingers crossed that you don't have more than one.
Your best bet would be to call a private dentist in your area.

I suspect they will want to do more than just fill your tooth.
in my country its 21 dollar each cavity i just got my cavities filled
i dont know about urs
by the way the charges for silver and white r same
I just had several fillings this week because of my avoidance of the dentist! I looked at my bill, My dentist charged the insurance company $120.00 a silver filling. If I were you I'd get in the door before you need more extensive work done! If you have dental questions A great site is www.dentalfearcentral.org. Alot of people are in the same boat! Good Luck!
It all depends on how large the filling will be. Your teeth have 5 surfaces and fillings are charged by the surface. Typically a one surface filling will cost around $70, a 3 or 4 surface filling can cost between $300 - $400. There are also different types of filling, white and silver. Silver is cheaper and is a good alternative if you are on a budget or don't have insurance. I hope this helps
I'm assuming a private doctor would charge up the @$$! What're you, K-Fed?
I paid about £25 per filling when I went to a private dentist in march. check up before hand was £17.50.
Depending on the size and materials used it could cost anything between £40.00 - £120.00.
Too much!
why dont you go on the NHS its alot cheaper?
