Does the act of chewing gum make you feel hungrier?

I heard that the chewing causes more saliva to flow, which somehow makes you "hungrier".

Is this true?

Its Certainly makes me more hungry
Here's an easy way to tell: Chew some gum. One of two things will happen: 1 You get hungry or 2. You don't.
Yes it does make you hungry usually before you are normaly.
Yes; this is very true taking bout personal observation i sometimes chew a gum whenever i feel full and avoid them when travelling and i dont want to eat junk foods on the way; but I must admit here that I did'nt untill now know the cause.
In the most non scientific way I can explain it, this is true because chewing gum creates saliva and saliva has enzymes in it that break up food. This starts the digestion process in the stomach and as we all know once you digest your food you feel hungry again.
I think chewing gum also sends more air into your stomach causing it to rumble and making you feel hungrier...I think this theory is purely psychological although the enzyme theory sounds feasible too...
