What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a dentist?

For reasons unbeknownst to me, I've heard they have one of the highest occupational suicide rates. That's a disadvantage, I'd say.
money is the advantage. dealing with people like the ones that ask questions on AnyQA.com is the disadvantage.

Disadvantages, stinky rotten breath, decayed teeth, people hating you because your a "DENTIST" ! Everyone dreading to HAVE to come & see you !!
DISADVANTAGES:
-Contracting AIDS and other blood born viruses
- Dealing with cry babies
- Dealing with poor people who need more than they an afford to do
- Dealing with new dental plans that pay s!!t
- I heard it's stressful - large suicide rate
- Bad on the back - all that bending over
- High insurance rates
- High carpel tunnel syndrome rate opening up mouths all that time
- Looking at people's disgusting un-cared for mouths (people are SO neglectful!) and it's gross

- Make your own hours
- Be your own boss
- Be a "Professional" <-- babe magnet

Pros: be ur own boss, make a lot of money, make ur own hours, have ur own staff, gain respect and help ppl.
Cons: high suicide rate, wearing away of ur wrists and fingers over time, have 2 bend over most of the time, difficult patients, have 2 smell bad breath a lot, risk of getting sued, have 2 go 2 school 4 many yrs which is very stressful and I think the job is very difficult as u have 2 b able 2 b very meticulous while not being able 2 see everything clearly.
