What are the best over the counter teeth whiteners. Are there any cons to whitening your teeth?

Answers:
I have always used Crest Whitening Strips and have always been happy with the results. Do not buy the off brand they do not work. I also use an electric tooth brush, this helps naturally whiten your teeth. After I finish with the whitening strips I use Crest Vivid White tooth paste to help boost the color and help even it out.

The only bad things about whitening your teeth are: you will experience sensitivity while whitening, this will go away. I use Fluoride tooth paste from the doctor to help with this. You will also notice white spots on your teeth after you whiten, these will also go away. (this is one of the reasons I use the Vivid White tooth paste)

I have been using them for several years now and am very happy. My first time using them I did not have the white results as I do now so it does take some time. I use them twice a year.

Good Luck!
There is a new one that just came out..believe it's made by Crest and it like a little "retainer" you put in your mouth...pros: faster than regular Crest White Strips Cons: Really bad for the enamel on your teeth, makes them really sensitive!
I use the target brand 7 day whitener once a year. it's about half the price of the Crest white Premium and I personally think they work better. I have been so happy with the results. many of my friends have asked me who my dentist is, thinking they were professionally whitened. good luck!

The only con is that my teeth get sensative. If they are getting especially senestative, i just use them every other day instead of every day.
I totally agree about the Crest WhiteStrips. They do a decent job, but they, as are all whiteners, tough on the enamel of your teeth. Additionally, if you have any type of veneers, they will be whitened unevenly in relation to the rest of your teeth.

Best bet: Go to the dentist and get the whitening done professionally. Many people are afraid of the dentist, and I do sympathize with them. However, they are your teeth, and you have the right to instruct the dentist what you want done. Despite the dentist saying that you need this and that, if all you want is to have your teeth whitened, tell him that. Just a decent cleaning and whitening treatment will do wonders for your smile.

Good luck, and keep smiling!! :-D
