I have a beautiful smile except for a little gap between my upper front teeth. What would be best to fix it?

Should I get braces (I'm 34) or could I get veneers? What's the price difference? My teeth are otherwise very healthy and perfectly straight.

Answers:
If it's really a small gap, you could consider some "direct bonding" to close it up. This is realatively cheap and often quite adequate.

Even if your teeth are perfectly straight, you might consult with your dentist or orthodontist about moving the teeth together to close the space. There is nothing artificial in your mouth if you do it this way. I've done a few Invisalign that they call "mini" cases and I can reduce the fee, because Invisalign charges less. It might be fixed in 3 or 4 months and cost less than $2,000. You might be able to use a "retainer" (although techinically it's not a retainer if it's moving teeth.) for even less.

If you're worried about money, you could always put a little bathtub caulk in it..worked for me!
cosmetic dentistry should work. you dont really need braces if its just 2 teeth.
invisalign braces

these braces are clear and people wont even know you have them in
Call an orthodontist office for a consult. They're usually at no charge. A clear plastic aligner (similiar to Invisalign but less) could work for you. Also, if there is a ligament of fibrous tissue causing the space between your teeth (frenum) it may require being removed surgically (small procedure) to keep the space closed. I would NOT get veneer or bonding. They require maintenance and if you whitenen your teeth, the bonding material will need to be replaced.

Your age is really irrelevant. Who knows, a small rubberband like material could possibly work if the space is that small. But again, you need an evaluation by an Orthodontist.

Cost depends on where you are located. In my area, SE. that'd prolly take 3 months with 3 sets of aligners to correct and the cost would be approximately 2300 including a retainer when finished. If rubberband, prolly just the cost of a retainer. Get a consultation. Make sure your dental history is recent and clear!

Good luck.
Thats actually really sexy, leave it be, its what makes you you
bonding will fix the gap sweetly. its painless, and not VERY expensive.
Go to an orthodontist for a consultation. Your beautiful smile will be even better when that gap is gone. I'm older than 34 and have braces. It's no big deal. I have no idea what veneers cost; my braces are $4,500.00. Good luck!
The question you should be asking is "how much does this bother me?" Is it something you've always been aware of? Do you hesitate to smile because of it? Is it interfering with your self-confidence?

I like Dr. Sam's idea of either bonding or doing a "mini" Invisalign case. In both scenarios, there is no removal of tooth structure.

But if you are happy with your beautiful smile, the little gap may just add character. Lauren Hutton made a fortune both as a model and actress with a diastema between her upper front teeth you could drive a truck through.
Veneers are about $1000 per tooth. i would go with braces. Bonding could make the teeth look much bigger than they should.
For a small gap, go for bonding with composite at minimal cost and time. You may even ask the dentist for a quick mockup to see if it will give the result you want without making the teeth look too wide. This involves putting on the composite without any glue. Takes about 5 mins and then can be flicked off easily. Bonding can last for many years, and can easily be redone if necessary.
If you do any sort of tooth movement like braces or Invisalign, there's no guantee that the finished result will stay that way, unless you're prepared to wear a retainer on and off for the rest of your life.
Porcelain veneers involve grinding of your teeth, and would not be my first choice for a small gap. This is an irreversible procedure with risks.
Try the simplest procedure (bonding) that does the least harm.
