Has anyone ever had a novacaine high?
I think it was novacaine. I got a tooth filled today, with out laughing gas, and I know novacaine is a local anesthetic but I swear I was loopy for like an hour afterwards. Straight out high as a kite. Has this ever happened to anyone? Can it happen?

OMG u too! wow that happen to me too when a went to the denist and i felt loopy for like an hour. i just found everything funny. my mother was the one who joked i was high an novacaine. i just laugh about because as a 16 year old it's better to be high off "dentist juice"(lol) than me taking real drugs.

yea my whole head went numb once and i felt dizzy and wierd for a day or two.just drink alot of water and get the stuff out of your system
It is not actually novacaine that is used nowdays. But anyways, it was not the anesthetic that made you "high". Most dental anesthetics have epinephrine in them, but this will simply make your heart race.
It was more than likely the nitrous oxide. It usually filters out of someones system once their system is flushed with oxygen, but I personally always seem to still feel that "high" feeling for about 30 minutes afterwards, so I know the feeling that you are describing.
But it was not the anesthetic.
I have felt a sort of jiteriness from novacaine before (the ephedrine they put in it, I guess) but nothing I would describe as a "high."
