Dental professionals: question about conical teeth roots?

1) Do conical roots arise from genetics?

2) If someone w/ conical roots gets braces, how likely is the chance that he/she will get root resorption 2 the point where it is dangerous?

Answers:
1. Yes.
2. Hard to say. I always felt that root resorption in orthodontics was do to too rapid tooth movement (too much force), but I admit that I am not schooled in this and don't really know.
