I live in Madison,Wis. I'm in need of a dentist who will accept my medical assistance?

I heard a commerical on the radio recently for one, but I don't remember the name. There is at least on in Madison though. Maybe Oak Park Dental? That's as much help as I can offer right now. Sorry.
Honestly the only way you are going to find out is to sit down with the phone book and start calling around.

I'm not sure if "medical assistance" means that you have medicaid. if so, I'm sorry to say you may have a tough time finding what you're looking for. Medicaid coverage varies from state to state - in New Hampshire, for example, it covers (for adults) ONLY emergency visits and extractions. It may cover sedation for those extractions.
In Ohio, where I went to school, it covered some basics, like exams, xrays, cleanings , some of fillings and some of dentures. nothing fancy, like crowns or the like.
Sedation is expensive. the one anesthesiology dentist in SE NH charges b/t 500-600 for the service in ADDITION to whatever he's doing for dental work. so a crown there would be like 1600 dollars!!
Even a VERY good insurance plan will count sedation ( like bleaching and the like) as an "extra", not as a basic care sort ot thing, so you'd have to pay most or all of the sedation aspect out of your own pocket.
Her'es my suggestion... ask around in yoru community who has a dentist they like, who is kind and gentle and understanding. see if they take your coverage. Go and talk to them about your fears and if you find a nice one, tey will be slow and careful. 90% of my patients who SAY they need sedation actually just need a little extra time, a little TLC and they do fine with local anesthetic. Oh, and also iPods. Bring some head phones so you don't have to listen to all the sounds, and it's a lot easier!
