I have a 9 year old min. dacshund, her teeth are very bad and are falling out. i was told to leave them alone?

I would leave them alone. They sound really bad. I have a rescued Boston Terrier, who's 6. She was over-bred and it just sucked all the vitamins, minerals, etc. out of her body. She has no front teeth at all. Only her canines (which are just 4 snaggle-teeth going every which way) and a few molars. I wouldn't get them cleaned. Especially since they usually have to put the dog to sleep to clean them. My dog eats just fine. Believe me, they will adapt to tooth loss.
You should have your vet clean your dog's teeth so he doesn't get sick from having abscesses.
