Impacted wisdom teeth?

My dentist says my wisdom teeth are impacted, but they are not painful or anything. Why do I have to have them cut out if they are not bothering me? Can they cause real problems?

Answers:
Well, they can cause problems down the road even if they are just sitting there at the moment. Usually, they do- and when you least have the time, energy and money to spare for the removal. The procedure is fairly straightforward and easy to recover from if they aren't infected when the dentist removes them. If they do become infected, then you would need to take antibiotics and suffer for almost a week before the dentist could remove them. The recovery would take longer and you would feel much worse. The fact they are impacted means they will not come in correctly. They can cause shifting of your healthy teeth, and remain a trouble waiting to happen. Could take a few months, could take a few years- but eventually, it will happen. Since you already know it's a problem waiting to happen, it makes sense to take care of things now.
Yes, crooked teeth, gum disease, pain, infection. Get them out if your dentist advises. Get it over with. It'll save u tons of money, time and peace of mind. Good luck!
When they start growing in they'll be a big pain. Much better to get them taken out early.
Yes. The fact that they are impacted can cause problems later on. Have them out. It's not painful. You'll be under anesthesia. You'll be uncomfortable for a few days after, but it's better to have them out when they're impacted.
I had one widom tooth that was impacted and that also wasn't painful but got it removed. Turned out it had created a deep pocket to the adjacent tooth. So it was a good thing to get it out.
You definitely have to get them removed. Your wisdom teeth are growing underneath the gum. What will happen is that you will get serious pain. You can't eat, can't talk, you just feel really bad pain.

Take them out now. You'll be much better off
Most definitely, my wisdom teeth were impacted so I got them removed before any pain, infection, etc happened. However, my sister waited and now she has to take painkillers every night so she can go to sleep. She's getting them removed next week.
