What are the best foods for hypertension?

Answers:
Vegetables and pulses. Eat only a small quantity of meat and cut salt to almost nothing. Read labels of manufactured food, there is a lot of salt in this.
SUGUR!
I think a generally healthy diet w lots of fruits and veges and especially whatever allows the perosn to LOSE extra weight.
Foods with low/no sodium/salt content. Read the labels. Do not use salt on your foods. There are salt substitutes which are pretty good-once you get used to them. Also, I use Mrs. Dash--Original Blend--for flavor--rather than sodium/salt.
For remedies to physical problems read from Nutrition Almanac. It's a good reference book as well as general information.
If you are looking for a real good book from an eastern nutritional perspective, you might consider "Healing with Whole Foods" by Paul Pitchford or "Chinese Nutrition Therapy" by Joerg Kastner.
