Any releif from getting wisdom teeth pulled?

My pain meds (motrin, and vicodin) wear off before its time to take more. i tried icing my jaw but it always melts and its just such a hassel what else can i do to rid the pain? =(

Answers:
Get four ice packs. Put two in the freezer, and use the other two to cover both sides of your cheeks. When they get warm, switch it. it is the BEST way.

also, maybe you should increase the dosage of motrin. unless you're already taking the maximum dosage, in which case i don't really think that the pills can help you. go for extra strength tylenol or something.

Try panadene fort
When my teeth were removed it didn't really hurt bad but maybe it's just because I was sleeping a lot and didn't really have time to think about the pain. Also, I drank a lot of gatorade which felt good.
meditation, imagine the pain not their
I spooned a lot of slushies, frosties, etc.

The cold numbs you.
You're already taking the standard medications given for dental pain. Time may be the only cure. When I had mine out, I was back to normal in 2 to 3 days. I know it's not what you want to hear, but that was what I did - took ibuprofen and waited it out.
actually all of the above. if you don't "meditate" some deep breathing while holding the ice packs. Use 800 mgs of motrin every 4-6 hours. And you can alternately take tylenol in 4-6 hour intervals so you are taking something every 2-3 hours. After a week of this you will need to do a liquid fast and liver /skin detox.
Try some ambesol. That stuff for teething babies is some help too. I would slam a couple of beers with that Vicodin, as long as you are not driving or working with heavy machinery, or babysitting, or need to be awake.
EXCEDRIN WORKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING FOR DENTAL PAIN, EVEN THE CHEAPIE DOLLAR GENERAL STORE BRAND IN THE GREEN BOTTLE FOR $2, SAME THING, COSTS LESS AND MORE DOSES. TRY IT.
Do not do too much activity it gets the blood circulating. Put a few drops of clove oil on a small gauze pad on your gums. It has a numbing effect which helps.
do take antibiotics with pain killers
only pain killers do not help for long time
Had all 4 done at once in the dentist's office. Other than having chipmunk cheeks for 2 weeks, the pain went away permanently.
