Answers:
It totally depends on the type of coconut oil you use! VIRGIN coconut oil is converted into energy in the body rather than fat. Read Coconut Cures! Great book. I've been using virgin coconut oil in all my cooking and have not had any weight gain. It has many uses far beyond ingesting it, too. I also use it as a sunblock, lotion, hair conditioner and makeup remover. It is antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal as well. Read the book!

yes
True, but it will make people fat too! Consumed in small quantity is ok but in large amount, well we will be obese!
I would have to say that it isn't. Coconut oil is very high in saturated fats, unlike most plant based oils. If you want a healthy oil use olive oil. It has tons of good unsaturated fats which are associated with decreased heart disease
uhhh, yeah?
Dude. WTF kinda question is that?
Jk but yeah.
Coconut oil is not going to make you thin and it's bad for the heart and the arteries. In small doses it's not going to kill you, but avoid it if you can. I used to go to popcorn store where they sold popcorn popped by the bag with different flavors and we thought it was good for us because it wasn't made with regular oils. But later we realized that it was the opposite and stopped going and they soon went out of business.
Coconut oil is good only when applied externally to the body, i.e. for extreme dryness of skin - and hair.

But it's unhealthy when used in cooking.
Swansonvitamins.com has the book The Coconut Oil Miracle by Bruce Fife and also sells the product. It appears to be a good thing.
I really like the way it smells, I apply it to my hair.
Yes to both questions.. Ask a pig farmer to try the coconut oil on them to verify it!
