An achy pain in the coccyx area and a sore neck: neither is stiff. Should I see an Osteopath or chiropractor?

Definately an osteopath. If you don't know what the cause is then a chiropractor could do more damage than good. Be careful.

Oh, and that comment from another answerer about seeing your GP? It depends on your GP - but most of them will give you pain killers and anti-inflammatories and tell you to try that for a couple of weeks.
Go see a CHIROPRACTOR. They are the ones that specialize in musculoskeletal problems . Manipulation courses are optional now in Osteopathic colleges.
I had the sam e thing plus more and attacked it on all fronts. I love osteoathy. The doctors i've had know a zillion times more than orthopedists. The manipulation are subtle. My doctor taught me deep diaphragmatic breathing to do during manipulations and at home for stress reduction. He told me to take up Yoga which I did and pain is no longer a factor in my daily life. (unless I sleep wrong!) He gave me yoga positions to practice which were simialr to my physical therapy exercises before I went to a yoga class. I hope you can find a really good osteopath.
