Is Prolotherapy a valid treatment for pain?
Prolotherapy is a therapy using injections to an area of the body which is in pain. It causes inflammation to induce the body to heal itself. Do insurance companies tend to pay for this therapy?
Answers:
I had a friend who used this therapy for neck pain and it really helped her. Couldn't tell you if it's covered by insurance or not -- check with your carrier.
I think it is still considered 'experimental'. Not much evidence for the long-term benefits of it in the research.
