Are there any shamans left who practise their craft?

shamanism is alive and well even in our urban anglo culture. many people have realized the benefits of going beyond "normal" culture and in seeking a way to be in more potent contact with their own souls and with the beings who populate the infinite number of dimensions beyond the third, in order to enjoy healing, wisdom and consciousness growth. there are many books and workshops available on topic, along with other valuable research tools. many, many links on the internet. "google" shamanic training, for example as a start. good luck ;-)

There are several! It's widely known to still be in existence in Alaska among all 5 tribes.
i have met several at pow wows and gatherings.
I dunno but every time I have a significant, life altering event about to happen I DREAM about a Shaman indian who warns me of what's about to come. Does that count? I've always wondered if I dream that because I'm part Cherokee (but know nothing of my ancestory) or if my brain just likes to use the Shaman because I associate it with wisdom.
