I'm not trying to be offensive, but.?

How many of you women actually run to the doctor when you a little period problem? I'm not trying to be offensive, but some people on AnyQA.com post their slight menstrual problems, get worried, and everyone tells them to see a doc asap. Are people actually that timid?

I've had severe pain in my lower belly for the past year. The pain is so bad it travels down my leg and into my back, yet I haven't brought this to the attention of a doc. In fact, I haven't had a physical in 5 years.

You sound like you're proud of the pain. Don't you know when you finally DO go to the doctor (hopefully it's not cancer) he's going to ask why you waited so long? Catching a problem early is the best defense, especially with cancer. I hope nobody takes your advice because it's totally irresponsible. Maybe on your tombstone they can put "She Was Tough". You'll be so proud then, won't you?

better too be safe than sorry
i've been having bad cramps since the day i started almost 10 years ago, it is cripling pain but i deal with it.
I don't go to the doctor for every little thing like some people do. Personally, I don't trust doctors. Why would someone who makes a living off of you being sick, want you to get better? Doctors kinda scare me, so I try not to see them as much as possible
ummm you might want to get that checked out. What if its something bad? Or even if it isn't, what if they can give you something to stop it. That might be nice.
You sound like me..I know I should go, BUT I don't like going..I am always getting "yelled" at for not going for my "yearly".I might go once every 5 years.I do know people that run to the doctor for every little thing..I'm just not one of them.
Then you are stupid!
When you are eventually diagnosed with a serious health problem and hear the words "we have gotten it too late" or " earlier diagnosis would have prevented this" or "curable when identified in the early stages" maybe those weak people won't seem so weak!

I have seen this so many times now I have lost count and every time I am left scratching my head as to why someone would want to suffer longer than they had to?? It isn't brave it is silly and detremental to your health.

first i'm no expert. but maybe these girls come here to ask these questions cause they don't know who else to ask?.and maybe they're told to see their doctors because that's the responsible thing to do?.

now as for you.pain is your body's way of letting you know something is wrong. normal cramps should be handled by OTC meds. you could have anything from endometriosis to ovarian cancer. if doctor's did not "cure" people they would not stay in practice very long. find a doctor whom you like, maybe a woman doctor. especially one who will listen to you. take a list of all your symptoms and all your questions. if you don't like how you're treated, find another, but please see someone. ignorance is NOT bliss. good luck!
If you get it fixed before it gets bad it is that much easier to cure, or cure at all.
That kind of pain CAN signify some serious medical issues. That's one I really suggest you talk to your doctor about.

I'm not one to go running to the doctor, either, which drives some of my friends and family nuts. I do like to keep my doctor informed about what's going on with me physically, so if I ever have a serious problem, she'll be able to look back at her notes and see if there are any issues that led to this that may help with diagnosis and treatment.

Severe pain, however, is your body's way of saying, "Hey! Pay attention! There's something abnormal going on here! Get me some help, or at least some attention!"

I get your not doing the doctor route, but there are people who feel more comfortable going and seeing their doctor when they have issues or questions simply because of the intense training health professionals go through.

Good luck, whatever you choose to do.
It is not natural to have severe pain anywhere! There are certainly people who run to the doctor for every little problem, but there are also people who blindly ignore their body's warning signs out of fear or stubborness. For those people "ignorance is bliss," but it comes with a price tag. Caught early enough many serious problems can be treated, but if you wait, it may be too late or a lot harder to treat. Unless you were just B/S'ing about the pain you describe and how long it has been going on, that is NOT NORMAL.

Continue to ignore it at your peril.
