7-up works as a upset stomach "cure" for me. Anyone know why?

Sure! 7-up, ginger ale or even coke all help to settle the stomach. It's mainly due to the carbonation of these beverages, or the tiny bubbles. They ease the stomach by helping you burp, and getting rid of the acidity and gas. They work on the same principle as Alka-Seltzer, but taste a lot better. Another thing that works for me is lemon. I suck on a lemon when I have an upset stomach, and it takes away that nauseous feeling.

they use to give me 7-up alot too. i think there's something in it that settles the chemicals in your stomach maybe? I'm not an expert but i know sometimes it helps.
Yes, I have discovered that 7-up works good as a upset stomach cure. I don't know why that is though.

7-UP IS VERY GOOD FOR UPSET STOMACH AS LONG YOU TAKE OFF THE SODA.
7up and other high acid sugary drinks does cure stomach aches for awhile, i know when i get them thats probably the first thing i drink or even ginger ale as a matter of fact all of them with high acid.i dont really know why it works but it just does but your not alone on this one.
I'd say Vernors works so much better over 7-Up, but, alas, Vernors is just a Michigan thing.
its a bicarbonate without the caffeine ,caffeine kills the stomach like acid if your tummy hurts reach for the clear sodas
I don't know "why," but it's a general fact. When you have an upset stomach, doctors will tell you to drink clear soda, like 7-Up or Sprite. It does settle the stomach. And, they'll tell you to avoid water. Water will actually cause you to vomit. And that's a fact.

I don't know what they done for the thousands of years before soda was invented, but these are truly the best drinks for anyone with an upset stomach.

Guess your pharmacist could tell you more about "why" the next time you're in the drug store.
