What is the difference between an Medical Doctor and a Doctor of Osteopathy?

I asked my MD what he thought about me seeing a chiropractor for my back. He replied that he believed that chiropractoric care is a scam and that I should see a D.O. Where would I find one and what exactly is the difference. Do they do the same type of treatments as a chiro?

The philophy is diff but now days it is practically samething. They take same exams to become physians. I can't believe your MD said that Chiro are scam. That is not very professional. In all professions, there are scamers.you just need to find a right person whether you are seeing MD, DO or DC's.

DO's get some training in bone manipulation but not as extensive as DC's. MD's probably get zero.I hears physical therapists are getting in to back manipulations now.

medical doctors just do practical medicine but the ostepathy doctor also practices osteopathic
Chiropractors are quacks. A D.O is a much better choice. See an orthopedist (M.D.) for your back.
