Warm bath
Relaxation tapes
Warm Milk
Not taking anything work related or stressful in to the bedroom
Some times smells such as lavender, etc.. can also sooth.
get some valerian root. you make a tea with it, its like a natural valium. it works.
I know chamomile is naturally calming. Make some sleepytime tea. That always helps me.
Some hard work during the day always helps.
"SleepyTime" tea has some herbs in it. I'm not sure what they are exactly but it seems to work.
yeaaah.. spend time with ur friends, ummm watch tv or somethin. use the computer till u get tired. play sports. anything that will keep u very busy in the day so at night ud be tired and ud get some good sleep
Try a glass of wine. Also, you probably need to see a doctor or get some counseling for grief to get you through this. Good luck!
CHAMOMILE TEA HELPS, ALSO VALERIAN ROOT, WHICH ARE BOTH NATURAL HERBS, SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOM
When I have trouble falling asleep, I warm up milk and add a tbsp or so of honey to it. The milk is supposed to release endorphines in your brain that make you sleepy. I don't know if it actually does, but I know the warmth and soothingness of it helps me doze off!

turkey sandwiches
Sorry about your loss. The best thing you can do it exercise about three-four hours before bed. DO it hard for about 45 minutes, like running with your dog or something. Then after U shower you will be tired. Avoid all screen time (computer and TV) at least 2 hours before bed.
Besides discussing your mother's passing with a qualified professional therapist, at my suggestion, one can take valerian which is sold in most health food stores. Do a search for valerian and take as you are trying to relax. Also, there are various CDS for help with sleep that help you visualize getting more and more relaxed. If you want to talk with me privately, my email is listed in my profile.
I'd like to know too. It just started for me about 3 weeks ago. I don't know why yet, but I need a remedy too.

Sorry about your mom. Think about how she would want you to be today. Would she want you stressed, or living up to all you are capable of?
The amino acid called GABA! This is Very relaxing! I took this to try not to take anything else for anxiety.

I'm also very sorry to hear about your Mom.
Chamomile Tea or Sleepytime Extra Tea with Valerian - Valerian root supplement. Try using lavender scented bubble bath, candles, shampoo, etc.
eat a roasted turkey sandwich while sipping a cup of tea
There is 2 things you can try - either damiana or passion flower, the only trouble is both of these need to be smoked. Not everyone smokes but they have helped me alot in the past when my sleep disorders have attacked. ps they do not effect dreams either as I have found other products make them more vivid. Hope this helps
I suggest a warm drink like Hot Chocolate. You might also enjoy a drink before bed (yes, alcohol).
Go to a nature store and pick up some tea.
Lavender and Chamomile
Wow sorry to hear that. Do you say your prayers before you do to bed ? Have you been to the doctor ? In your case you need to see a doctor. Good Luck and GOD bless.
hard work
Camomile tea, hot bath, and a good book. Get some kind of routine going. Light a scented candle, if that helps. The main thing is to go to bed at the same time every night.
Warm milk
Meditation
Breathing techniques
Exercise
Diet
Several others

But it sounds like you need to turn your mind off, so I'd start with the warm milk to induce a chemical change in your body & then I'd work on breathing techniques after you're in bed. (Btw, try taking the milk during a nice, long, hot bath.)
lavender perfume on your pillow at night helps a lot.
hot water bottle on your feet can also help
God be with you to comfort you. Even though our loved ones are in the best place, it does not stop us from missing them. I had a hard time, too. Not sleeping is also adding to your stress. If you drive, take an early evening drive with the music you love playing in the background and just sing along or use the time to pray. I do both.

If you like to exercise, do so in the afternoon and really do some good cardio.

Drinking warm tea sweetened the way you like it is good. Camomille is excellent. No caffiene. Some people enjoy warmed milk.

Try having some conversations with someone trusted to just remember some good times with your mom or just talk about your feelings. You will probably cry, but you will feel better.
Yes, Try to get as tired as you can be and then go to bed.
