what is required of someone who wants to do medical studies?

For instance your qualifications to become a surgent;the subjects you must excel in and the time needed to complete the course

Answers:
a surgeon you mean?

in the US, becoming a surgeon works like this:
Go to college-approximately 4 years, take biology, chemistry, some math and physics while you're there
Take the MCAT
Get into Medical school
Go to medical school--another 4 years, learning everything from physiology and anatomy to pathology and pharmacology
Take the USMLE step 1 and step 2 exams before your 3rd year of medical school and after your 4th
For surgery, after you graduate, have a year of general internship
Begin residency--for surgery, anywhere from 5 to 7 more years
Total debt: roughly $200-$250k
Total time invested: approximately 14 years (minimum of 8 years if you don't do a residency, maximum of 17 depending how much you want to specialize)

if it's something you know you want to do, good luck, but it's a long and difficult road

There is no such thing as a surgent, moron.
Look on the internet there are some great sites on there,it takes 7 yrs to qualify as a Dr 3 years Med school 4 yrs in house training (Hospital).
4 straight A in A levels Maths, Chemistry, Human biology and English. SURGEON not surgent. ---- after that 4 years in university.
I would think a college course would help you to achieve this. If you call in to your local college campus and get a prospectus you'll see the full details of the course.

Good luck!
Well in the UK.. you have to study the sciences at A' Level [3 or 4 A'Levels] in college: Biology,Maths, Chemistry and /or Physics..
Our education system goes:
a) High school - Ages 11-16
b) College - 16yrs to 18yrs where you study for your A' Levels
c) Then University 18yrs+
When applying to study Medicine or Medical Science in this country you generally have to sit an entrance exam to get into the University as well as having your A' Levels. Then medical school is 5 years.
I don't know about the USA but I would have thought you would need to study for similar subjects..
Get accepted into the Med. school of your choice & tell them what kind of medical practices you would like to practice, and they should set you up.
Why do you want to become a surgeon or for that matter a doctor?

If you are really interested in profession, then go ahead.

But, you think you can make a lot of money then think again, it is not so. with very rare exceptions.

Believe me.

I am a doctor and an eye surgeon. It is very difficult road and may take many years to become one. By the time you are qualified in any speciality you are 30 - 32 years at least. Even after that the renumeration you get for the amount of hard work you put in is not good.

Well, one in 100 or may be 200 may do very well in that, but most do not.

But, I suggest you to go with your heart.
well if you want to be a brain surgeon you will need a good toolkit saw drills etc,if you want to be a doctor i suggest you learn to spell
